‘Our rock’: Internet hails Queen, 96, as she receives British Prime Minister Liz Truss at Balmoral Castle despite fragile health

ABERDEENSHIRE, SCOTLAND: The Queen has received huge love on social media after the Royal Family released photos of her meeting with Liz Truss at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where she invited the newly elected Conservative Party leader to become Prime Minister. The 96-year-old monarch, who struggles with mobility issues, held the royal audience for the first time not at Buckingham Palace but during her retirement in Aberdeenshire.

Since last autumn the Queen has suffered from sporadic mobility problems, and last week it was decided to invite outgoing and incoming prime ministers to travel the 1,000 miles there and back to see her. Some people have noticed that the Queen’s right hand appears bruised or purple in photos released by the Royal Family.

One Twitter user wrote: “Wishing the Queen a speedy recovery and hope her health stabilizes. The very large bruise on her hand is worrying.”

However, many on social media have expressed their support for the Queen, praising her looks and acknowledging her extraordinarily long reign, which has so far exceeded the terms of 15 prime ministers, including Truss.

One Twitter user wrote: “Great to see the Queen in great shape. Hope she is well. Time for William and Kate to take over. Charles doesn’t have to come to the crown necessarily. ” Another user wrote, “God save the Queen. 15 Prime Ministers. Absolutely amazing. Our rock.” One wrote: ‘Wonderful 3rd female Prime Minister under an amazing female monarch. UK and Commonwealth are beacons to keep calm and carry on.’ Another user tweeted, “Wow, one queen and three female prime ministers, that sure is a good thing! :)” Another user tweeted: “Respect. The Queen’s admiration for Mrs. Truss is evident and Her Majesty’s smiling face confirms it even in the face of the classically understated elegance of the next new minister. The queen is very elegant in the Scottish style. May the Lord bless you both. Appreciating how the queen looks, one user wrote, She looks so beautiful and comfy in her tartan skirt and cute long cardigan. His hand shows a nasty bruise. I hope it doesn’t hurt anymore.”
