Natalie Portman on Mighty Thor: “Grateful to everyone’s imagination for casting a 5’3 actress in a six-foot role”

With Thor: Love and Thunder, Hollywood star Natalie Portman returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as scientist Jane Foster. Natalie will also be seen as the Mighty Thor in the new film.

During the global virtual press conference held recently, Natalie expressed her excitement about joining the Marvel world.

“I was especially grateful to everyone’s imagination for casting a five-by-three actress in a six-foot role. I think it takes a real leap of possibility in your mind and probably not something I will have, you know, the opportunity to do, to be imagined like, by any other band,” Natalie said when asked about her experience playing the Mighty Thor.

Natalie Portman’s colleagues were excited about her return to this field, as Chris Hemsworth said the film was actually a “rebirth” of Jane Foster, while director Taika Waititi praised Natalie’s portrayal.

“It’s great to see Natalie in a way you don’t expect. She’s such a great actress, and to reinvent this franchise over and over again, we didn’t want to see her in the same role again. We we don’t want to see her just being a scientist on Earth waiting for Thor,” Waititi said.

Natalie Portman had appeared in the first two Thor films, Thor and Thor: The Dark World, where she played the scientist girlfriend of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder releases in India on July 7.
