For the first time in nearly two years, the musicians of the Houston Symphony will return to the main stage of the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.

At the end of September, they will make a rock comeback with “The Music of Queen”.

“The last time the Houston Symphony performed at the Pavilion was in October 2019, so it’s been a long wait and we can’t wait to share this special occasion with our community,” said Ashley Gravois, Head of Relations public awareness and education. for Le Pavillon.

The return of the Houston Symphony is scheduled for Thursday, September 30. Expect a night out featuring a variety of Queen classics including “We Will Rock You”, “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Somebody to Love”.

The mezzanine and the seats on the lawn are free. The performance will begin at 8 p.m. and the doors will open at 7 p.m. Tickets reserved for orchestra seats are $ 20. Tickets are currently on sale at woodlandscenter.org.

“We are delighted to welcome the Symphony back to the main stage and have them perform a show as energetic and family-friendly as ‘The Music of Queen’ makes it even more exciting,” said Gravois. “We love these types of events that bridge the gap between different musical genres because they allow us to engage new audiences and present the arts in fun and creative ways. There is no greater joy to us than fulfilling our mission of bringing the power of live orchestral music back to the main stage and we look forward to continuing to provide exceptional entertainment and art programming at The Woodlands and beyond. “

Bridging the gap between rock n ‘roll and classical music, conductor / arranger Brent Havens takes the podium to present Windborne’s ultimate rock show, The Music of Queen, a program he composed to extend the experience of listening to the exceptional tunes of Queen.

Performed by an orchestra and amplified with a full rock band and vocals, Havens and her ensemble capture the distinct sound of Queen while showcasing familiar musical colors and plenty of new. The high energy, fun music, and the familiarity of the songs make the show fun to play and see.

Tony Vincent also performs as part of the concert. The actor / producer / singer / songwriter is widely known for appearing as a finalist on “The Voice” on NBC.

“These two artists bring a fun and unique energy to the scene – as we saw in 2019 on ‘The Music of Tom Petty’,” she said.
