Equipment review: IK Multimedia Total Studio 3.5 Max and Total VI Max bundles
I was admittedly behind in the IK Multimedia software game, but soon after I became a full-fledged and enthusiastic follower. Frankly, their software visual interfaces are not only some of the most enjoyable to use, but are also very logical and easy to navigate and quickly apply to your audio. They sound great and get the job done quickly. They also make some terrific and extremely useful virtual instruments in addition to their great plug-ins.
Now they have created two very clever packs, the Total Studio 3.5 Max and the Total VI Max, at an extremely attractive price, certainly within the reach of any skill level, from beginner to advanced. In the process, they added new features: plugins and virtual instruments that were not previously available in previous bundles. In addition to the massive collection of effects available in previous versions of the bundle, 3.5 Max adds SampleTron 2, 8 new sample reservoir libraries from Electromagnetik and Cinekinetik, the 4 virtual X-GEAR pedals for AmpliTube 5 (recently released worldwide), as well as 6 new T-RackS modules, including FAME Studio Reverb *, Comprexxor and the complete TASCAM cassette collection.
I can’t tell you how many of these effects I have used in a plethora of recording sessions very effectively and efficiently and have yet to select the one that hasn’t done the job exactly as I did. was waiting. They are so tall. Frankly, I think IK Multimedia’s plugins are largely overlooked and underrated. For example, their Mix Box plug-in (included here BTW) has to be the best value, most efficient, and easiest to use of any plug-in I’ve ever tried. It has up to 8 slots for a multitude of effect combinations, and all of the options sound great (you can think of it as a hardware multi-effects box in software form).
The new Max 3.5 effects join AmpliTube 5, T-RackS Sunset Sound Studio Reverb, MODO BASS and all of IK’s latest and most sought-after music creation software. With a total of 143 products, Total Studio 3.5 MAX covers all stages of music production: composition, production, design, mixing, mastering and performance. With over 470 GB of rich, authentic sound and 497 ultra-realistic effects, Total Studio 3.5 MAX is the most complete all-in-one solution for creating music in virtually any style.
Total VI MAX is IK’s most comprehensive collection dedicated to virtual instruments, a collection that was previously only available as part of Total Studio MAX. Ranging from bass and drums to a wide variety of keyboards and orchestral sounds, every virtual instrument in Total Studio 3.5 MAX is here. The collection contains over 15,500 instruments, including IK’s SampleTank 4 MAX with 16 additional libraries, the new SampleTron 2, Miroslav Philharmonik 2 and Syntronik Deluxe, all of which work as stand-alone applications as well as libraries in SampleTank 4. In addition, there is Hammond B-3X, DRUM MODO and BASS MODO. I’ve purchased the Miroslav collection before and it’s great for adding realistic orchestral textures to your work with a very user-friendly interface. Highly recommended. All of their virtual instruments sound great and get their money’s worth.
