Buffy’s Sarah Michelle Gellar Finally Explains Cast Feud Rumors

“There were times when David could be a handful. It was never really for me, but I’m sure [he was],” the I know what you did last summer claimed by the actor, who played Angel, Buffy’s first love. “And I’m sure I was the same with people too, right?” It wasn’t rosy. Gellar and Hannigan flaunted their friendship on social media. the Ring the actress even attended a birthday party in December 2020 for the daughter of his former co-starKeeva.

“Joss Whedon abused his power many times while working on the sets of buffy the vampire slayer and angel“, she wrote via Twitter at the time. “While he found his misconduct amusing, it only heightened my performance anxiety, disempowered me and distanced me from my peers. The disturbing incidents triggered a chronic physical condition that I still suffer from. It is with a beating and heavy heart that I say that I coped in isolation and, at times, destructively.

There has been a lot of damage during this time and many of us are still processing them twenty years later.
Gellar also defended his teammates following the allegations against Whedon.
“Although I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I have associated it with the name Joss Whedon,” Gellar wrote via Instagram at the time. “I’m more focused on raising my family and surviving a pandemic right now, so I won’t be making any more statements. Right now, but I stand with all survivors of abuse and I’m proud of them for speaking out.
