American singer Britney Spears loses her pregnancy
American singer Britney Spears has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage a few weeks after announcing that she was pregnant with her third child.
Spears revealed this in a joint Instagram post with her partner, Sam Asghari, on Saturday, saying she wished they had delayed the initial pregnancy announcement.
She also said that they will continue to try for a new child in order to expand their family.
“It is with our greatest sadness that we have to announce that we lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce that we were more advances.
“However, we were too excited to share the goodness. Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue to try to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all your support. We kindly request confidentiality at this difficult time,” the statement read.
The 40-year-old pop icon announced her pregnancy in April, six months after a Los Angeles judge ended the controversial conservatorship she said was preventing her from having more children.
According to her, the 13-year-old’s guardianship led by her father, Jamie Spears, prevented her from removing a contraceptive IUD, despite her desire to have more children.
Jamie Spears was removed in September and the conservatorship was officially dissolved in November.
Already, Spears is the mother of two teenage sons, Sean and Jayden, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
